Welcome to Global Assist
On 8th October 2005, the South East Asia earthquake killed over 79,000…
17,000 children lost their lives…
8,000 schools destroyed.
One of the great tragedies was the destruction to public buildings like health clinics and schools.
Because the 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck during school hours, many children were injured and killed when their schools collapsed, caused by the strength of the earthquake and the poor construction of the buildings.
Many children still have their classes sitting on mats, under the shelter of a tree. Global Assist aims to return hope and confidence to people affected by the disaster as we know this is essential for their recovery.
Help us and make it possible to give hope to the survivors.
Our appeal is to raise £50,000 to open and run a school in the earthquake hit area.
